New Zealand Police Codes

NOTE: - These codes are provided for information only. Any use of these for unlawful activities is not permitted.

NZ POLICE EVENT TYPE CODES

Offence codes (4 digits) -
1st Digit - General offence category -

1= Violence
5= Property Damage
2= Sexual
6= Miscellaneous
3= Drugs/Anti social
7=Administrative
4= Dishonesty

2nd 3rd and 4th digits give progressively more information about the offence.
For example 4211 4 = Dishonesty 2=Vehicles 1= unlawful taking 1=Motor vehicle (i.e. "pinching cars")
4322 4 = Dishonesty 3=theft of property 2= From shop 2= value under $500 (i.e. Shoplifting)

Comm centres generally only use the first two or three digits as it is not possible to correctly categorize the offence until the enquiry is complete.
